M$ is so about this bubble that they put an AI “bruh” in charge of the division. It is more surprising that this wasn’t announced earlier.

I already had zero interest or compulsion to buy anything Microsoft… but this is so violently repulsive, at this point, I feel like they owe me money.

Previously, Sharma served as Microsoft’s corporate vice president and head of product for its AI platform from 2024 to 2025. She also worked as president of its CoreAI product organization from 2025 to 2026.

    Sigh…

I’ve observed women in leadership roles that are all in on AI. It makes me wonder if they view it as a way to level the male dominated playing field or, more likely, they’re following the same narcissistic roadmap to corporate success their male counterparts do. Either way she likely won’t be in here position for long.

Every single game developer doing massive layoffs is betting on the exact same thing to save them and it is of course AI.

Unless they are very careful (hint: they won’t be) gamers are going to see right through the slop and it will be the end of the AAA gaming industry as we know it. They are speed running their collapse as we speak.

Huh, seems like despite their massive failures, layoffs, patented ads in games, and outrageous price increases, Xbox seems to at least be trying to do an about face unlike Playsta-

    AAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNND IT’S GONE.

You serious? There have been thousands of old games getting decompiled so they can be ran on PC/linux/4k/widescreen, when one happened by hand like Goldeneye,SuperMario64,OcarinaOfTime it made headlines but now people are doing it daily with the use of LLMs. Stuff like open sourced Adobe and MS Office products. People putting other game assets like Escape From Tarkov into games like Skyrim.

Edit: Found a good source if anyone wants to see more of what going down: https://readonlymemo.com/decompilation-projects-and-n64-recompiled-list/

I’ve seen some decompiles of things like Mario 64, but nothing recently or involving AI

I’m usually pretty informed on gaming stuff, and despite disliking AI listen to a few AI podcasts. I haven’t seen a thing. Looks like I need to update my feeds.

The VR modding scene is crazy right now. A new flat to VR mod drops every other day now which was more like a monthly occurence at best. A lot of them are vibecoded messes but the amount of worthwhile ports is more than one would think. I still hate AI. Just because it now kinda works for specific tasks doesnt do away all the other negative aspects. But i take some new vidya in an otherwise dead market segment while everything burns to the ground.
