Fuck me. Rural voters are so fucking dumb.
Its not the rurals people are such of thevincinpabts because of cost of living. People get upset and vote out who is in power happens all the time.
Vancouver is also supporting the Conservatives over Eby. Every region includes Vancouver, in case you were unsure on the definition of ‘every’.
Yuck. BC is a mess.
This time the conservatives will give us freedoms and low taxes without wrecking public services, I promise. ;)
I mean he has done a food job of increasing deficite. I don’t get the vote for “my party” people. They all suck we should not have majorities but then wevneed electoral reform. And tjatvseems impossible.
Eby’s a fuckin’ idiot. What was he even thinking?
He was thinking his opponents were in disarray. What he should have been doing, though, is remembering how quickly the right came together before the last election. They can unify pretty quickly, if temporarily, when it means these grifters will get a chance to rob the public coffers.
And thanks to the international right wing media ecosystem that has been built up over the last couple of decades whatever party emerges from that process can count on a significant amount of support no matter how obviously incompetent they have shown themselves to be very recently.
I think he may have been forced to call this election, by people much more powerful than him.
Not a chance. Loads of people in the province, including the opposition, municipalities, etc. were saying he shouldn’t call one. If he was feeling any pressure to call an early election (he wasn’t) he had plenty of ways to resist it. This election is 100% on him.
Who, though?
This shows that the thing BC dislikes more than incompetence, hatred, discrimination and American influence is someone inconveniencing them with a snap election to capitalize on those things.
Spite motivates more than facts, bc con fascism may swallow up BC whole.
Could be the biggest miscalculation intecent Canadian politics.
Quite a masterful play by Eby, this election is. Political hubris of the decade, mayhaps.
And before this one, David Peterson in Ontario
