Wow 145 million taken from Parks Canada over 3 years.

I guess the park ramgers can get work mopping the floors at a data centre or working an oil rig.

Won’t be anything good left to share with our children at this rate.

Imagine looking at the USA on fire and thinking “Yes, this is what we should do instead of taxing the economic leeches hoarding the lion’s share of the wealth”

Hang them upside down and shake them until they’re penniless. Let them live in the shit world they created and forced everybody else to live in, and use their money to put back into all the services that have been choked year after year… Why is this so difficult?

      Elected conservative got conservative.

But it’s not like that, while I can’t say if it’s related to the outsourcing. A lot of government work is being outsourced to US companies as appeasement for trade talks. So services aren’t scaling down so much as moving. (Even if onsite budgets shrunk

Starting next year the booking portal will be American iirc.

Not really. Canadian government is bloated AF.

Parks Canada had 4,700, -8,000 seasonal. No one will miss those 500, and they will all be retirements.

Some agencies are out of control, like Health Canada which peaked at 10,000 people drinking coffee all day.

        They are mostly retirements.

I know people were complaining that the RIF through attrition wasn’t working, but people need time to decide to take the payout packages and set a date to wrap things up and find a successor.

That’s how attrition based reductions work.

That doesn’t really make sense. Listing numbers is pointless. You need a number of employees equal to the work that needs done.

That is the small government for the sake of small government argument that fascists use.

yeah, and i’m sure these 500 newly unemployed people are going to be making a better canada by working for loblaws/bell/rogers/telus/etc…

you need to get out of your house and visit a national park sometime if you think parks canada is bloated…

It’s fun how you automatically label people you don’t see in front of you as lazy.

You think that disposition is genetic?

Last time I got to a Parc Canada I was so thwarted. I had so many good youth memories from this one and now every little services the Parc offered before as been privatized. It was really sad
