The NDP wanted a bigger mandate. Voters delivered a brutal correction
John Rustad was laughing when his Lemmy.ca lurkers helped Doerkson out.
I never took Lemmy.ca for a powerful lobbying group. Hmph…
What I mean is that the bc conservatives spies learned from our conversations of how to manipulate the public.
Kind of like a Butterfly Effect? That makes sense.
I’m deeply confused about the articles talking about Doerkson as the premier that don’t mention that he’s, according to the BC Cons constitution, ineligible to run for party leadership. He’s only the premier until they hold a leadership vote, right? Why isn’t that mentioned? Or, if that’s not the case, or if his future is unclear for some reason, that should be included, imho.
As far as I know, nobody knows who the premier of BC will be. It could be an inexperienced alt-right lunatic or a seasoned BC Liberal wearing a new party hat.
From the Con’s twitter announcement, Sept 23:
When Mr. Doerkson leads the Party to victory on October 24, he well remain Leader. The Board will pursue the appropriate means under the Party’s Constitution and Bylaws and the Societies Act to give effect to this intention.
So I guess they’re going to fudge the rules to ensure he’s the premier. I guess the certainty is a good thing. Still don’t know how right-ward they will go though.
