When I used to live in Ottawa, the OC Transpo didn’t seem to know what time it was in its own damn city.

Since 2020, Saskatchewan has been on permanent daylight saving time, and Yukon has been on permanent standard time, but no one elsewhere in the country has ever wanted to know what time it was in either of these places, so it didn’t cause any confusion.

Thanks but Saskatchewan has never suffered through this stupid clock changing BS. Twice a year we would hear some business owner complain about it and how we should change to using it, but than how would the cattle understand why they are being feed an hour earlier/later?

I’ve heard the excuse that the whole daylight savings shenanigans are to help farmers, but that’s always sounded silly.

The theory I’ve heard floated most often was that it was intended to make sure that workers in British munitions factories during the World Wars could see well enough to find their way to the pub at the end of their shift. Nothing to do with farmers at all. It isn’t like cows or crops care about numbers on a clock.

I was taught it was to reduce the need for artificial lighting and conserve fuel for the war efforts.

I generally haven’t had that problem.

However, digital calendars are a complete mess, especially with recurring meetings.

Y2K, that is a little bit of a push. We have social media now, I am sure people are seeing these stories on the dangerous traditional social networks.
