Essentially, the technology uses machine learning to interpret “a variety of
signals already associated with the users account, such as the types of
information a user has searched for or the categories of videos they’ve watched
on YouTube,” in order to determine a user’s age.
My entire family uses the same account and has for 23 years. I wonder what their algorithm thinks of that?
FYI - The algorithm is literally a profile built around you as a person, not the account itself. The account actually gets added to your profile.
So if your family shares an Amazon account, Amazon knows who each person is that accesses the account based on a whole load of other fingerprinting (device, location, metadata, etc). Then THAT data is shared with data brokers for the individual’s algorithm across the internet.
It’s probably as confused as the Amazon algorithm that recommended Latin for Gardeners to me.
